Viewing received messages:
Received messages can be viewed from the
Messaging bar.
NB. Only messages from a
registered email address or mobile number
will be shown in the received messages
screen. School members and family contacts
must reply from the address or number that
they use for school contact. This helps
prevent spam or nuisance messages in
Schoolcomms.
- Click on the Messaging bar on the
left hand side.
- Click Received messages.
- By default, the messages for
the last week are shown. If you wish to
see messages received over a different
date range, use the drop down date boxes
to choose the range required, and click
Show.
- The messages received in the
selected
date range will be shown.
- Select the message you wish to
view and you will see the text of the
message in the box below.
- Messages flagged as being
responses to attendance queries can also
be read and processed from the
Attendance response screen.
- Attendance related responses
should be processed from the Attendance
response screen as this enables the user
to set the necessary marks in SIMS
attendance. You can alter the status of
the message between ‘Attendance’ and
‘Not attendance’ using the button on the
top bar.
- Messages that have been processed and marked as ‘finished’ on the attendance response screen will
not be displayed here on the received messages screen. They can be viewed in the
attendance response history.
-
A selected Not Attendance message can be flagged as dealt with by clicking on the ‘Processed’
button. This means that when you next open the Received messages screen you can
immediately see which ones are new and need to be read and actioned.
- If you wish to select all the
messages click the Select all button.
- To delete a message or
messages, select as required and click
Delete.
NB. Email replies to
general messages (not attendance related)
will normally be routed to the school’s
preferred email inbox. Email replies shown
here will usually be replies to attendance
messages.
