How to view the demo.

 

  • Open Schoolcomms from the desktop icon. You will see this screen.

  • Click on the 'Try a demonstration of Schoolcomms' button to see what Schoolcomms has to offer. You will be offered a printable sheet to guide you around the demonstration. In demonstration mode, you can try all the buttons and screens.
  • Display the licence options and prices to see the choices available.
  • When you have chosen to use Schoolcomms click on the 'Create an account' button. This wizard will help you to set up your account. When you have created your order on completion of the wizard, please fax, post or email it to us and we will activate your account within 2 working days.

 

How to login.

 

  • Open the screen above from the desktop icon.
  • Click on 'Log in to Schoolcomms...'
  • Enter your username, memorable data and password. The username and password you chose yourself when creating your account. The memorable data will be in your welcome email.
  • The memorable data and password are case sensitive.
  • If you have forgotten your credentials you can ring the support line to have them reset.


 

  • Click the Login button.
  • When your login is successful for the first time, you will be taken directly to the Import Wizard. Once a member import has been completed, a successful log in will take you to the 'Compose an Email' screen.
  • Schoolcomms will automatically time out if it is not used for 12 hours. Any work that has not been saved may be lost.
  • Every three months you will be prompted to change your password for security purposes.

 

Using Adobe Reader.

 

Within Schoolcomms you will need to use Adobe Reader to read PDF files. This will be necessary for reading and saving the student and member security letters. If you do not have Adobe Reader installed on your computer you can download it for free by visiting the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com.

 

General Information.

 

  • The left-hand toolbar determines which activity you wish to carry out, whilst the top toolbar controls the facilities available within each activity.
  • On all screens, the sorting of the lists in the columns can be altered by clicking on the column heading.
  • On every screen there is a help button which will take you to the relevant section of this manual.
